According to research, 70% of environmental pollution emissions originate from transportation vehicles. Notably, the level of pollution can surge by 4 to 5 times the normal rate during traffic congestion.
In 2023, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang have devised plans to limit motorbikes in order to alleviate pollution and traffic issues. This initiative also represents one of the primary solutions toward achieving carbon neutrality in Vietnam.
However, in Vietnam, motorbikes continue to be regarded as the predominant mode of transportation. Therefore, tightening the EURO4 standards will be a more effective measure to mitigate emissions into the environment.
Additionally, our country is also setting forth several new objectives:
- By 2040, production and importation of gasoline-powered motorbikes will cease.
- By 2050, there will be a transition to 100% electric cars and motorbikes.
It is evident that Vietnam has been implementing practical solutions to ensure that emissions from transportation vehicles no longer pose a “burden” on the environment in the future!
